Ralph Lauren - Bringing expert-led conversations to a global workforce

Bringing expert-led conversations to a global workforce

Ralph Lauren partnered with On The Level to design and deliver a series of expert-led talks for colleagues across the world.

These sessions explored topics that really matter to people’s lives and work, from menopause and mental health to the impact of devices and social media on children and families.

Each session was designed to be practical, human and grounded in real experience, not theory.

The challenge

Ralph Lauren’s staff networks (Employee Resource Groups) wanted to create meaningful events that colleagues across different countries, roles and time zones could access.

They were looking for:

  • High-quality speakers with genuine expertise

  • Topics that reflected real-life challenges colleagues were facing

  • Sessions that would engage both corporate and retail teams

  • A format that worked globally, but still felt personal and relevant

There was also a broader ambition underpinning this work: to move beyond one-off wellbeing initiatives and create a series of conversations that genuinely supported people to thrive.

Our approach

We worked closely with Ralph Lauren’s internal teams to shape a programme of talks aligned to their priorities.

This included:

  • Identifying topics that resonated across their global workforce

  • Curating expert speakers with both credibility and strong delivery style

  • Designing sessions that balanced insight with practical application

  • Creating a consistent, high-quality experience across the series

Sessions were delivered live online, making them accessible to colleagues globally. They were also hosted by senior directors of the business from different countries, demonstrating commitment to the topics.

We had over 160 participants from right across the business. In some locations, teams even organised informal “watch parties” in Ralph Lauren stores so store staff could come together to learn and reflect.

In practice

One session, delivered in partnership with Jeannette Jackson, focused on building bio-resilience and understanding the biological drivers of stress, energy and performance.

The session explored:

  • The impact of long working hours on stress and productivity

  • Key hormones and how stress affects them

  • The stages of burnout and how to recognise them

  • Sleep, nutrition and movement as foundations for wellbeing

  • Practical techniques, including breathwork, to improve resilience

The conversation quickly became real and personal.

Colleagues shared their own experiences of stress cycles, burnout, sleep disruption and energy dips, with the chat full throughout the session.

The Impact

Across the series, these sessions created space for open, honest conversations about topics that are often left unspoken at work.

By covering a wide range of areas, from menopause and mental health to parenting, device use and resilience, the programme met people where they actually are in their lives, not just in their roles.

Colleagues reported:

  • A better understanding of how different aspects of their lives affect their energy, focus and performance at work

  • Increased confidence to talk about topics like wellbeing, health and family responsibilities

  • Practical tools they could apply immediately, from managing stress and improving sleep to supporting children’s development

  • A stronger sense of connection, as people recognised shared experiences across teams, roles and locations

The global format also played an important role. Bringing colleagues together from different countries and contexts helped to create a shared conversation, while local “watch parties” added a sense of community at store level, and demonstrated a visible commitment to investing in people’s whole lives, not just their output at work.
